Big month ahead — Black Belt testing, Region 2 Championships, our all-school picnic party, and Halloween fun! — October is packed with growth, leadership, and celebration!

Dear Reader and Starworld Families,

October is here, and it brings an incredible season of growth, achievement, and celebration for our Starworld community!

First, we would like to wish all of our students taking the test this Friday night the very best. You’ve prepared, you’re ready, and now is the time to give it your all. Remember—testing is not just about earning a belt; it’s about showing courage, perseverance, and commitment to becoming your best self.

We also want to send powerful encouragement to the 60+ students competing in the Region 2 Tang Soo Do Championships this weekend! Whether you bring home a medal, trophies, or not, you are already winners to us. Competing is about more than results—it’s about courage, friendship, and representing yourself and our school with pride. Families, thank you for supporting these students—you are their greatest cheerleaders!

Special congratulations to the five students who have completed their six-month Black Belt probation. This is a major milestone, and we are proud to award your official Black Belt Certificates this Saturday, along with embroidered Black Belts to the 1st Dans. Those receiving their very first embroidered Black Belt with white stripe, stitched with your name and dan number, are stepping into a legacy of responsibility and honor.

October's Leadership Character Word of the Month: Decisions & Leadership​
This month’s focus on Decisions ties directly into what it means to be a Black Belt. Leadership is about skill plus a lot more—it’s about the choices you make daily. A Black Belt decides to set the example for others, to contribute and serve, and to represent Tang Soo Do with pride and respect. Leadership isn’t optional; it’s part of the duty of a Black Belt. Higher Dans (Black Belts), especially, must lead through teaching, guiding, and living as role models in and out of the dojang. Every student—no matter your belt color—has the chance to practice leadership by the decisions you make.

• 🎉 Starworld Year-End Award & Picnic Party – Saturday, October 18th, 9:30 AM @ Goodyear Recreation Center​
  This is our one big, all-school celebration where the entire Starworld family—students, parents, staff, and every team—comes together. At this special event, we’ll recognize achievements, honor our staff and leaders, and celebrate the hard work of every Starworld student. • Kick-or-Treat Costume Buddy Week – October 28th–30th​
  Students are welcome to wear their costumes to class if they’d like! 🎃👻 Bring a friend and join the fun—karate training, games, and Buddy Week excitement all in one.

🎃 Halloween Night at Starworld – Two Awesome Events!​
​Friday, October 31st

✨ 1. Trick-or-Treat Stop (6:00–6:30 PM only)​
Families are invited to swing by for a quick stop before heading out for trick-or-treating. Kids can grab candy, snap a picture with their instructor, and try a short karate challenge. (This is not a drop-off event — parents stay with children during the stop.)

👾 2. Parents’ Night Out: Humans vs. Zombies (6:30–9:00 PM)​
Looking for a full night of fun? Please register for our PNO game night! Kids will enjoy karate games, pizza, and our Humans vs. Zombies challenge (Infection Tag style).

🍁 Fall Festivals & Trunk-or-Treats – October 17th & 24th​
Catch us out in the community sharing Tang Soo Do and spreading the Starworld spirit!
