Hello Reader and family, We’re into the second week of August! School has/is starting, summer activities are wrapping up, and Starworld is in full swing as we get everyone back into their regular routines. Here’s the video of the week with what you need to know this week, and below are more details! 🎉 BACK 2 SCHOOL JAM – THIS SATURDAY!Saturday, August 15 | 12:45–1:45 PM It’s time for some FUN—and bring a friend! Friendships are an important part of growing up, and we want our students to have opportunities to build positive friendships while having fun together. We’ll have games, music, karate, an obstacle course, food, prizes, and more! Friends do not need any martial arts experience. We’ll also take a few minutes to talk about doing well in school. Students who consistently earn good grades and would like to participate will have an opportunity to share some of the habits that help them succeed. It’s fun for everyone, and a great opportunity for our students to practice confidence, communication, and leadership. ⚡ BACK 2 SCHOOL FLASH SALE!Our 4-Day Back 2 School Sale ends Thursday, August 13! Save up to 50% on selected uniforms, training gear, sparring equipment, backpacks, weapons, accessories and more. Students who are ready to train more can also ask about our special training upgrade savings. Four days only, don't miss it! 🥋 BELT TESTING IS IN FULL SWING!Our next Belt Test is Saturday, August 22 at St. Thomas Aquinas High School Gym. Students who joined Starworld in June or July may be eligible to participate if their instructor determines they are ready, giving many of our newest students their first opportunity to test for their next rank! Instructors will be reviewing portions of the Belt Test requirements during each class between now and the test. Regular attendance is especially important right now. We want students walking into their Belt Test prepared, confident, and ready to do their best. 📚 READING CHALLENGE – LAST WEEK!Our Summer Reading Challenge sheets must be returned by Saturday, August 15. Please turn in your child's original completed Reading Log by Saturday so their reading can be counted toward their awards. Students who completed 25 books earn our Grand Champion Reader Award and an entry into the Electric Go-Kart Grand Prize Drawing! Reading Challenge awards will be presented at the August 22 Belt Test & Graduation. ⭐ SUMMER ATTENDANCE CHALLENGE – COMPLETE!Our Summer Attendance Challenge has officially ended, and we are now tallying the results through our kiosk check-in system. We look forward to recognizing the students whose consistency and commitment kept them training throughout the summer! 👕 BACK TO FULL UNIFORMSSummer T-shirt season has ended. All students should now wear their complete uniform, including their white karate top, to class. Summer was fun, but now it's time to get back into the rhythm of school, homework, martial arts, friends, and family.
